One
of the more unusual animals of Bonaire’s wild life is the donkey. They roam freely about the island, baying in the night
moon light. We found ourselves referencing Finding Nemo while diving, and Shrek while on land. What a fun place this was!

Although
the island has a desert climate, it is colorful and bright in its flora, birdlife and people. Murals of this type could be
seen all over Kralendijk, the capital city. But most of the color was displayed in nature. There were flamingo preserves
in the north, flocks of brilliant neon parrots in the trees, and the water in the salt pans to the south gave off a purple-pink
shade.
